Corporate and commercial law
Large companies, entrepreneurs and small business owners operate within a legal framework that is often not well understood, consisting of strict regulations to be followed in terms of administration, accounting, managing financial risks, and respecting the rights of investors. Monitoring and documenting contractual relationships with clients and suppliers – whether in Switzerland or abroad – defining terms and conditions, and dealing with issues related to financing (loans, bank credits, letters of credit, etc.) all require specialized knowledge and often specialist advice in order to anticipate and reduce the risk of loss or litigation. These topics, to which can be added the restructuring and stabilization of companies, the law pertaining to prosecution and bankruptcy, as well as intellectual property law – in particular trademarks – make up the large body of law known as commercial law.
